China Prioritizes the Advancement of Computing Power

China prioritizes advancing computing power for its rapidly expanding digital economy, recognizing it as the cornerstone of digitization. With over 41% of its economic output coming from the digital economy, China possesses the world’s second-largest computing capacity.

To catch up with global competition, China aims to accelerate the construction of national computing hubs and data centers while promoting technological breakthroughs. Computing power has become a strategic focus for major economies, driving a new technological and industrial revolution wave.

China will focus on systematic innovation and secure core technologies to maintain a competitive edge. Policies to enhance high-quality computational infrastructure development are forthcoming. Computing power is vital in supporting artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, enabling services from ride-hailing to daily business operations.

According to a scientific research institute in China, every yuan invested in boosting computing power can increase China’s GDP by 3-4 yuan.

According to Deputy Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Minister, China boasts a nationwide data center infrastructure with over 7.6 million standard server racks, contributing to an average annual growth rate in computing power of nearly 30% over the past five years.
