Authorities in Thai Nguyen province have dismantled and destroyed a facility engaged in producing and selling counterfeit baby diapers and sanitary napkins under several well-known brands. According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Market Management Team No. 1 of the Thai Nguyen Province Market Management Department, in coordination with other agencies, conducted the raid and subsequent destruction of the counterfeit operation.
During the inspection on September 8, officials discovered that the household business, operated by a person was manufacturing and distributing a large quantity of counterfeit baby diapers and sanitary napkins without invoices or documents to prove their origin or legality. At the site, authorities found a full production line of machinery and equipment used for producing various sanitary napkins. The inventory included 121,700 loose counterfeit branded sanitary napkins, 135,000 counterfeits from another brand, 67,500 smuggled branded diapers, and over 10,000 kilograms of raw materials such as nylon bags, transparent film, adhesive tape, glue, and paper rolls.
The owner admitted to sourcing raw materials from the market including paper, cotton, glue, adhesive tape, and pre-printed nylon rolls bearing the brands of the companies at low prices without proper invoices, before producing and packaging them into finished counterfeit products. Authorities immediately ordered the facility to halt operations, sealed the entire machinery and equipment chain, and confiscated all counterfeit sanitary napkins, diapers, and raw materials for further verification and legal action.
