The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has initiated legal action after receiving a complaint from automobile companies regarding producing and selling counterfeit spare parts bearing their logos and stickers in New Delhi.
According to an official, various auto parts like filters, pumps, and more are being manufactured and distributed in the market. This fraudulent activity not only deceives the public but also causes financial losses to the government and tarnishes the reputation of the affected companies.
A specific location in Subhash Mohalla Karol Bagh was mentioned as the hub for these illicit activities, involving the production, stocking, printing, and sale of duplicate products such as brake pedal shoes, clutch assembly, clutch cover, air filter, chain case, chain cover, control cables (all types), etc.
In response to the complaint, the police registered an FIR under the Copyright Act and conducted a raid. This operation uncovered counterfeit stickers, printers, laptops, and a weight machine, all used in manufacturing. The investigation is ongoing.
