Thai authorities confiscated illegal cosmetic products in Bangkok valued at more than THB 8 million (approximately USD 251,000). The seized items included over 13,000 pieces of nose silicone, 1,404 chin silicone implants, and 1,192 units of unregistered medicines. According to Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a 34 year old manager has admitted to selling the products to more than 20 clinics and online customers for over three years without proper authorization.
The suspect is now facing charges that carry both prison time and fines. The FDA stressed that only medical-grade silicone should be used in cosmetic procedures to protect patient safety, warning that unregistered medicines or illegal silicone can cause serious health risks, including infections, disfigurement, and even death.
