Three individuals, identified as truck drivers, have been apprehended by Attibele police for allegedly stealing 1,558 pairs of shoes valued at about Rs 1.1 crore. The primary suspect, who was entrusted with transporting the shoes from a showroom to a Myntra warehouse, is currently evading authorities. Instead of fulfilling the delivery, the suspects pilfered the merchandise with the intention of selling it.
The assigned driver, departed from the showroom on December 21 after loading the shoes onto the truck. Despite assurances to deliver the goods within a specific timeframe, the driver failed to do so and was later found to have diverted the truck to another location.
Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had conspired with the other individuals to carry out the theft and subsequently sell the stolen shoes at a reduced price for quick profit. The suspect had only recently joined as a driver, adding a concerning element to the case.
