Chinese Firms Step Up Logistics Investment Drive

Chinese express delivery and logistics businesses are accelerating their attempts to engage in global logistics infrastructure and offer air cargo services.

These initiatives are part of a larger effort to strengthen delivery efficiency and protect the stability and security of supply chains.

To strengthen its worldwide logistics network, a Chinese logistics business has increased the number of its overseas distribution centers to 15. It concentrates on last-mile delivery and smart lockers to enhance and localize its services in destination countries.

The organization has established six smart logistics hubs throughout the globe. It runs cross-border logistics warehouses spanning more than three million square meters and schedules more than 240 chartered aircraft monthly for long-distance logistics.

The logistic company claims that cross-border supply chains and logistical capabilities and services need to be streamlined and digitalized.

According to the logistics company, as more retailers move online to reach a more extensive international consumer base, the Covid-19 epidemic has underlined the significance of reliable and efficient cross-border transportation services.

To better support export merchants in their cross-border businesses, the logistics company will continue to invest in global logistics infrastructure and improve end-to-end international fulfillment services.

The logistics company announced in November that it had opened its first smart distribution center in Brazil and will be opening nine more such facilities there over the following three years.

A second logistics firm, a division of a Chinese e-commerce platform, is putting more effort into building logistical infrastructure worldwide.

It intends to construct more warehouses in the Middle East, South-East Asia, Australia, and the Americas.
