Apple launches $50 million skill development fund for supply chain employees

To support expanded initiatives for people across its supply chain, Apple is partnering with the International Organization for Migration, and education  experts around the world.

As a part of the new initiative, the Cupertino-based tech giant has announced a $50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund that will expand learning opportunities and skill development. According to the company, the new education initiatives will make training and coursework available to supplier employees around the world. The programme will initially be available  to individuals in the US, China, India, and Vietnam.

In addition to that, the fund includes partnership with universities, rights advocates and non-profits to drive Apple ongoing work to empower supplier employees. The company is also working with the supply chain partners to amplify worker voice.
